Hormone Care questions

The short answers. Your provider will give you the long ones.

Do I need labs first?

Not always. Your provider may order labs based on your history lab policy TBD.

Is hormone therapy safe for me?

It depends on your age, history and symptoms. Your provider reviews your risks with you before anything is prescribed.

How soon could I notice a change?

Everyone is different, and results vary. Your provider will tell you what to watch for and when to check in.

What if I’m still having periods?

Perimenopause care can start while you’re still cycling. Tell us about your cycle in the intake.

Important Safety Information

medical/legal review

Estrogen-alone therapy may increase the risk of endometrial cancer in women with a uterus; adding a progestogen lowers this risk. Estrogens with or without progestins should not be used to prevent heart disease or dementia. Some studies of postmenopausal women reported higher risks of stroke, blood clots, heart attack, breast cancer and probable dementia.

Do not use estrogen if you have unusual vaginal bleeding, a history of breast or uterine cancer, blood clots, stroke, heart attack or liver disease, or if you are or may be pregnant. Common side effects include headache, breast tenderness, irregular bleeding, nausea and bloating. Progesterone can cause dizziness or drowsiness.
